How do I choose a carom board?

1. The surface of the board should be perfectly flat-a budget thin plywood board is unlikely to provide a perfectly flat playing surface and will tend to warp over time.

2. The playing surface should have a smooth feel with no bumps or bumps. The corner pockets should be well made and round.

3. Thicker frames provide better rebound and stability, and carom boards with polished wooden frames are usually of better quality than black lacquered ones. The latter is usually made of cheaper quality wood, filling in irregularities and painting.

4. The carom board should not wobble when placed horizontally and should not have sharp edges, protruding nails or pinheads underneath. When choosing a

carom, you need to understand the important value of PLY.
