Product Details
The QUEEN of TONE is a dual overdrive pedal, expertly stacked with the legendary Horseman and Morning Star circuits. This design caters to guitarists who appreciate the nuanced tones achieved by combining two distinct overdrives.
On the left side, you'll find the Horseman with its SILVER mode. Based on the iconic Centaur, this circuit has been modified to easily access its secondary function by holding the footswitch. Shape your sound with the Output, Treble, and Gain knobs, and switch between Gold and Silver modes. Gold Mode faithfully replicates the transparent overdrive of its classic predecessor, while Silver Mode offers a powered-up version with an extended gain range, reminiscent of the Silver Centaur.
The right side features the Morning Star with SHINE mode. This circuit is inspired by the legendary Blues breaker, known for its transparent, low-gain drive. Like the original Morning Star, it includes a simple footswitch hold function to engage the iconic SHINE mode, delivering a crystal-clear treble-boosted tone.
The pedal offers versatile routing and toggle switches, allowing you to adjust the order of the overdrives (MS->HM or HM->MS) for dynamic sound stacking. On the back, a BF/TB switch lets you choose between Buffer-Bypass and True-Bypass, while the IFS/NORMAL switch engages the INPUT FET STAGE (IFS) to increase the input signal, driving your tube amplifier hotter.
Controls:
Left Side (Horseman)
- OUTPUT knob: Controls the output level of the Horseman circuit.
- TONE knob: Controls the treble frequency of the Horseman circuit.
- GAIN knob: Controls the drive level of the Horseman circuit.
- Footswitch: Engages/disengages the Horseman circuit. Hold for 1 second to turn on/off SILVER mode.
- SILVER indicator: Illuminates when SILVER mode is engaged.
Right Side (Morning Star)
- DRIVE knob: Controls the gain of the Morning Star circuit.
- TONE knob: Controls the treble frequency of the Morning Star circuit.
- LEVEL knob: Controls the volume of the Morning Star circuit.
- Footswitch: Engages/disengages the Morning Star circuit. Hold for 1 second to turn on/off SHINE mode.
- SHINE indicator: Illuminates when SHINE mode is engaged.
Connectivity & Switches:
- Routing toggle switch: Adjusts the order from Morning Star to Horseman or Horseman to Morning Star, useful for stacking sounds.
- INPUT: Connect your guitar to this jack.
- OUTPUT: Connect the output signal to your amplifier.
- EXT. SW: For use with an external foot controller (e.g., NUX NMP-2).
- BF / TB toggle switch: BF (Buffer-Bypass) is recommended for long signal chains to prevent tone-loss; TB (True-Bypass) for minimal signal interference.
- IFS/NORMAL toggle switch: Engages INPUT FET STAGE (IFS) to increase input signal, pushing tube amplifiers hotter.
- DC Jack: Requires ONLY 9V Negative Tip power with 100mA.
Key Features:
- 2 classic overdrive circuits integrated into one compact enclosure.
- Versatile modes and routing design to enhance tone variety.
- IFS (INPUT FET STAGE) design to drive the amplifier's breakthrough edge.
